Discipline Over Motivation
The New Year is here and so are the new year resolutions and new exciting opportunities to make 2022 the best year yet.
January brings excitement and a new found motivation for all of us. We wake up earlier than we used too, we go to the gym more and our hair is on fire. But, what happens when we begin to get busy and life begins to get in the way.
We can not rely on motivation we must instead we must be disciplined enough to achieve what we said we would.
Discipline Over Motivation:
Remember Your Why - When the going gets tough remembering why you started in the first place will light the fire to get going. There was a reason why you set this big goal at the beginning of the year. When in doubt, remember why you started in the first place.
Set a Routine - Too much wiggle room in your schedule can be detrimental to getting things done. Put your workout time in your calendar, workout at the same time each day and guard that time from any other task that may creep up. That time is blocked for you to become the best version of yourself you can be.
Find a Team - Find a person or group of people that can support you in your journey. On days where you may not feel like getting it done you can rely on your teammates to get you through. Also, it makes it a little more difficult to miss when you know your team is there to support you.
Just Do It - Lets be honest there will be days when you just dont feel like it. Just get it done! I promise that you will feel better after completing your workout and will be happy that you did.
Enjoy the Journey - There will be ups and downs. A year is a long time and there will be times that things do not go as planned. Enjoy the journey and embrace the challenges that come with achieving great things in your life. Stay focused and do not let 1 bad day turn into 2!
